Poetic Justice…

This in from Xonk: FEC FINES SWIFT BOAT VETS 300K

Thanks, Bro…Keep up the fire! Here’s my take on this one:

I don’t want to be an old I told you so…but…:-)! Pardon me, if I gloat a little…no, make that a lot! But, it has been quite a journey (and a rewarding one
as well, it seems…) from the 3rd Triennial Vietnam Symposium at Texas Tech University, held in Lubbock, Texas, in March of 2005, to reading about this major victory for the forces of Truth. The journey started when a group of Old School VVAW types under the leadership of Ms Nancy Miller Saunders, serving as panel moderator, confronted these liars on Saturday, March 19th , the last day of the Symposium. I was honored to both be member of Nancy’s panel as well as to be in the company of the likes of Terry Dubose, Alex Primm, and Gerald Nicosia as fellow panelists.

As a panel, we enjoyed the in person back to back support of CathyK, SgtWayne, Calixto, Scott, BettyH, LucyD, and CathyP. Old School VVAW, one and all. And as such; primary targets in the anti-Kerry hate campaign mounted by the Swift Boat Vets leading up to and during the last presidential election campaigns. All were there to personally confront the Nixon left-overs with the Truth regarding Kerry and the VVAW. The first ones up to that point to do so; including Kerry himself, I might add. The Swifties presented at 0845, and we were on at 1030 hours. Unedited live video of panel presentations and panelists’ presentation papers are available at
TTU Symposium '05.

Those who were there should definitely feel a tremendous sense of validation of personal and political principle, and most assuredly deserve acknowledgement for having been members of the crew that fired the first shots over the bow of the Swift Boat Vets in what has now become a major victory for the American electorate.

The idea of VetSpeak.org was born from that gathering. It was founded on the premise that Truth ain’t always pretty, but; it is always powerful. On my families coat of arms is inscribed on a banner the premise, in Latin; “Persistence brings down even the strongest walls…” This decision by the FEC is powerful reinforcement for both of these premises. It is an especially validating experience to have been in the fight, along with countless others joined together on the side of right, and to have prevailed.

We owe ourselves an “Attaboy!” on this one, for sure. However; we will need to remain vigilant. These guys haven’t surrendered. They’ve simply retired from the field; they are just re-grouping and will now be super busy, looking for loop-holes in these recent restrictions,
http://vetspeakblog.blogspot.com/2006/10/whos-who-art-of-cyber-camouflage-by.html, in readiness for the run-up to the 2008 elections.

I know that all hands that were at TTU will continue to provide political light, in any way that they can, to the lies of those who now must swarm like flies to sugar to any perceived loopholes in the new restrictions. VetSpeak.org will remain in the fight. We hope that all of those who brought about this social and political shift in our society, the American voter, will, too. It is to them that we truly owe this victory, and it is their hearts and minds that we will need in order to prevail in the many battles to come.

Willie, Like I said in an earlier email to ya: It's never good for us when our sworn enemies are applauding our election results! Can't you and your buddies recognize the danger we are all up against in the world and realize that a candidate like Kerry is incapable of leading us in an aggressive win or die battle? Get off the Swift Boat thing! It's over! Don't be so blinded by your ideology that you lose all rationality. We need leaders that will go after those in the world that would have us all reading the Koran or face death. The limp- wristed Democratic party is not the place to find the next Patton. Bush is certainly not the answer but at least he knows the danger we face and has a proactive plan even though some huge mistakes were made in it's execution. He is still getting after them. Just think about how the left would have been writing about the Normandy invasion. What if they-those opposed to the war-prevailed and the US came home in 44? Think about that- then you may come to realize that the only way for our survival as a nation is to be "on the muscle" with extreme aggression toward this evil and bastardly enemy born of radical Islamic fascism. I don't hear any Dems talking aggressively much less having a plan. And that, my friend, is maybe one reason why those you are opposing are so aggressive with their politics. They understand the threat. That is all.

Yo, Joe...
Good to find your comment this morning. I have been meaning to respond to you re your perspective on things that I've written on these topics in earlier articles. However, this is the best place for this kind of stuff, out here where folks can read and think over the points of view and perhaps comment on their own; Dialogue is the fuel of truth, afterall.

I really don't think we are in too much disagreement with reference to your perspective on Kerry's political leadership abilities. I think I covered that in an earlier post, http://vetspeakblog.blogspot.com/2006/11/kerry_03.html, and in some earlier writings where I criticize his leadership, or apparent lack thereof, during and following the the presidential election.

So, please, understand that I criticize his lack of leadership just as strongly as I criticize the Neocons and the Nixon left-overs in the Republican Party when it comes to abandonment of Constitutional principle and the wishes and welfare of the greatest numbers of American Citizens.

Clearly stated; I am not necessarily a supporter of the "far Left" anymore than I am a supporter of the "far Right". I am a registered Democrat, but find myself more politically independant with Libertarian oriented philosophical leanings, and am thinking about registering as an "Independant". I am definitely not a "limp wristed Democrat", as you seem to percieve. In fact, such types are very high on my disrespect list. I personally advocate a very strong, assertive policy toward our enemies. Only, a well designed and well led one, please.

I am more inclined to vote the issues most beneficial to the American people as a whole, rather than as directed by political party superstars or lock-step political party hacks. If they meet that latter criteria, no matter what their stripe or bent, or what they might be calling themselves at the moment; I am not supportive. A tyrant is a tyrant, by any other name. A lesson learned when you and I were on the same side of things, back in the day; practice must match principle.

As I have said, time and time again; there is no "one" leader, or any designated "group" or "caucus' who I think will provide for a safe and secure future for the American people. Only the American people themselves can do this. They just have to stay tuned in, politicaly aware, and vote accordingly. They made a great start in this last election period by abandoning "political correctness" at the polls. Let's hope that they keep it up. As demonstrated in the last election; it is the American voter that truly has the power to make it all work. In my opinion, this is not a "Left" or "Right" issue; this is a Constitutional issue.

You will be suprised to hear, I'm sure, that I agree with you regarding the radical Muslim/Islamic threat to our society and to our Constitution, and to the rest of the world. That is not to say that I think that there aren't any good Muslims...it's just that the ones that we hear the most from are more interested in Muslim Jihad against the Infidels...that's us...and the Jewish people. We rarely hear from the ones that respect our culture and our Constutional Democracy and appreciate our way of life, as we know it. If we did, and there were a majority of them, perhaps we would not be in the political fix that we are currently in. I strongly support your perspective on this insidious threat to ours', and all of the free world's freedom of choice in matters of religion and state.

They, along with extreme political factions, such as the Swift Boat Vets, acting as tools (Plumbers) of the Neocon power structure, and multi-national corporations built on greed and profit and exploitation of the American people are, as I see it, part of the problem of our not being able to find a workable solution to the Iraq/Muslim mess. A mess which was brought about, in my opinion, by flawed policy and flawed leadership on the part of the Bush Whitehouse and Cabinet, as well as operatives thereof, all of whom obviously didn't have a clue.

Therefore the Swift Boat Vets...or whatever they are calling themselves these days, will always be in my sights. I have met them in-person head-on, and will never back off of my perspective of them as enemies of Constitutional Democracy. Nor will I let up on continuing to make people aware of the Not So Swift Vets' subterfuge and lies regarding Iraq and American political candidates. Lies which have been amply documented, http://www.tpmmuckraker.com/archives/cats/economic_freedom_fund/, but only minamally dealt with.

What they did to Kerry regarding his military service to his country as a Vietnam Veteran (regardless of what you think of his politics, or him personally) and to our last presidential election was disgraceful and disrespectful towards Vietnam Veterans and was criminal in nature and in spirit towards our Constitution...and they are still in business; http://vetspeakblog.blogspot.com/2006/10/whos-who-art-of-cyber-camouflage-by.html, operating under various guises rather than out in the open in front of the American people. They are devious men, and they are the enemies of free-thinking Americans, and they haven't gone away, by any stretch. So, in spite of your comment; "Get off the Swift Boat thing! It's over! Don't be so blinded by your ideology that you lose all rationality...", sorry; no truce.

I respect your opinion, Joe, and truly, I do respect and understand where you are coming from. But, when it comes to the Not So Swift Vets and their impact on Democracy, I respectfully disagree with you. And, as much as I wish it were so; it is definitely not over.

Willie

Hey Bill,
Your prowess with the written word is impressive and humbling to us mere mortals and your clarity is most appreciated on this end as I am not very good at deciphering vague ideological diatribes full of leftist rhetoric and inaccurate proclamations of the evils of those in opposition to the views in your camp.

Your eagerness for dialog is a very welcome and refreshing respite from the usual "my way or get f****ed" attitude of some of the people that I argue with about which direction the US should take in regards to our safety and future well-being.

I will get a comment out to you on the blog as quick as I can verify some facts to back my argument. "Cyber camouflage"??!!!!

I'm still a working stiff and never seem to have all the time I somehow need to get it all done.

Also, Willie,I regret and apologize for not understanding or viewing your previously stated proclamation of Senator Kerry's inadequacies.

Joe
